At the UN in New York City this past Saturday, Emma Watson stepped into her new role as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and introduced the “HeForShe” campaign, a movement that aims to unite men and women in the fight for gender equality. For 25-year-old Krystal Cantu, failure was not only impossible, it was not an option. After a car accident days before her first CrossFit competition, the San Antonio native had to have her right arm amputated in order to save her life. For many people, this would be enough to knock them down and not want to get back up. Krystal not only got back up, but is now saying the accident is “the best thing that could have ever happened” to her. (more…)

In today’s digital age it seems like every move you make is captured somehow. Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Reddit (I could go on but you get the point) are thrusting regular people into the spotlight for every day things. The 15 minutes of fame has been reduced to about 15 seconds and we are bombarded with new stars or people to admire almost every day, making it easy for the people doing truly amazing things to get lost in the shuffle.
